Eric Jensen is doing a great job with the Booker Vineyard and he has prominently established the vineyard as a biodynamic leader in the community. Each year we craft a blend that is comprised entirely of Booker fruit.
2013
49% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 16% Mourvèdre
Fruit hailing from Booker Vineyard, we worked with a co-fermentation of Grenache and Mourvèdre and threw in a health dollop of Syrah. Dark plum and pomegranate flavors intermingle with soft hints of nutmeg. Ripe strawberries and quince get tossed with Thai basil. Well-defined tannins support a full, lush mouthfeel. Aged in 40% new French oak and neutral puncheons. Drink now through 2020.

This wine is ready to roll and I'm thinking that you should experience it in its early life. Eric Jensen is doing a great job with the Booker Vineyard and he has prominently established the vineyard as a biodynamic leader in the community. I do not care to get into details here, but the real thing is to "know thy vineyard." It takes years of study to figure out what is going on. Keep it up EJ! This is 2003 Linne Calodo style: Deeeeep black purple, roasted meats, and tar. Signatures of a great bottle of LC.

2010
44% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 24% Mourvèdre
Booker Vineyards is located 2.5 miles to the north of the Linne Calodo facility. Within that short distance the rainfall can be 30% less, the temperature 3 degrees higher, and the distance from the Pacific Ocean grows to 13.8 miles. All of these factors translate into the fruit ripening 2 weeks earlier than LC Estate fruit. This wine is big and bold with a textured layering of boysenberry fruit and roasted red meats with a tobacco box savory note. This wine will be great with the hearty meals of fall and winter, or it can be consumed on its own. Meticulously farmed with passion. Bottle aged for 1 year in our LC cellar, ready to drink now through 2020. Syrah, grenache, mourvèdre.

2009
67% Syrah, 17% Mourvèdre, 16% Grenache
Formerly known as Screwball- a blend that, in the past, was predominately fruit from the nearby Booker Vineyard. The '09 vintage uses all Booker fruit and so we decided to pay homage. Bottle aged for a year, this blend has a deep crimson nose and flavors of hazelnut, roses and café noir emerge from the glass. The finish is an elegant diminuendo easily paired with wild game. Booker Red is ready to drink now or able to cellar through 2020.
