Here we go again! I'm switching it up this year and releasing the the larger format 1.5l Magnums in two separate waves. The Summer release is Sticks and Stones, Problem Child, Overthinker and Perfectionist. While magnums age a little more slowly than 750ml bottles, these bottles are meant to be consumed with friends and family for summer gatherings and the Fall/Winter holidays. So grab your allocation today and let the good times begin.
As for the wines and upcoming harvest season, I sometimes sound like a broken record. While every vintage is different, I struggle to fully relate my observations in this short paragraph in this email. We continue to actively manage the drought situation, keeping our fingers crossed that the El Nino predictions will soon become a reality. The vines are currently nearing the end of their shoot growth period and will, within the next 45 days, begin to focus on verasion (building color and getting sweet). The flowering of the vines for fruit set back in May/June was extremely poor for Syrah, yet decent for Grenache, Mourvedre, and Zinfandel. We will need to wait and see how the quality shapes up, but I have every belief that this will be a good year for concentration. Of course, I'm hoping to get rained on this harvest and to roll with the punches as we always do.
Cheers until then,
Matt and Maureen Trevisan
